Old English used unrelated verb gnâīdan; it is possible that a form of “rub” occurred in Old English and missed being recorded, in which case it is not a loan.
Dutch and Middle Low German influence belongs mostly to the late Middle Ages (1350-1500), as does some of the Italian influence on English and probably also the scanty influence of Welsh and Gaelic on English.
